Alumni collaboration at UNDIP Physics means cooperation among alumni, students, the department, and the public, and it grew stronger at an alumni reunion at Twin House, Cipete, Jakarta, on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University, hosted the event with alumni from many generations.
UNDIP Physics Reunion Brings Generations Together
The event ran from 11:00 to 16:00 WIB. Department leaders met alumni representatives from the 1990 to 2020 classes. Dr Pandji Triadyaksa initiated and coordinated the event, and Dr Eng Ali Khumaeni, Head of the Physics Department, opened it officially.
The alumni work in research, information technology, instrumentation, the energy industry, and government agencies. As a result, the discussion drew on many viewpoints. Moreover, the meeting gave the university and its alumni a good moment to strengthen their ties.
Alumni Collaboration with Students
Students stand closest to the results of this collaboration. Alumni have walked the same path and then built careers in many sectors. Therefore, their involvement should widen students’ view of the workplace and strengthen their readiness for new technology.
Alumni also open a wider network for new graduates. Through lasting relationships, students can learn about many opportunities beyond campus.
Alumni Collaboration with the Department
During the discussion, alumni shared ideas on how physics education should develop. They want learning to stay relevant to technology and workplace needs. In addition, they stressed the importance of graduates’ competitiveness.
Meanwhile, the department sees alumni as important partners in raising education quality. Their experience helps the department balance mastery of basic physics concepts with the ability to apply them to real problems.
Collaboration Benefits for the Public
However, this collaboration does not stop at the campus gate. The department and alumni hope to bring research results into wider use so that they benefit the public. Alumni also reminded the audience that a university’s research succeeds not only through publications but also through its benefit to society.
The multi-generation meeting shows how broad the service of physics graduates is. They work in academia, research, industry, information technology, energy, instrumentation, and other strategic sectors. As the partnership grows, UNDIP Physics hopes to build a more productive ecosystem of education, research, and innovation for national development.
Finally, the department hopes the ideas from the meeting will turn into real programs that involve everyone.
